By submitting such credit card information, you give Secret Compass Collectibles permission to charge all purchases made through your account to the credit card you designate on the order form. You may also calling in the order via phone, or by mailing in your payment. Business or Personal Checks that are not certified funds require up to 10 business days to clear.
2) In Stock & Pre-Sales: We advertise 2 different types of sales- “In stock” and “Presale/In Production”. In Stock orders usually ship within 24-48 hours. Pre-Sale/In Production orders ship when we receive the items from their respective manufacturers. For more information on Pre-Sales, please read “A Word on Pre-Sales”. With Pre-sales, you have the choice of either paying the full amount up front, or paying a small deposit up front, and then the remaining balance + shipping/handling once the item is in stock and ready to ship. Once you click on the actual product, you have a choice of either “Pay in Full” or "Pay Just a Deposit”. If you select to pay just the deposit, you will be invoiced for the final payment including shipping, once the item is in stock. You can also make smaller monthly payments if you want. We are very flexible with payments and can tailor a custom payment plan to your exact specification. Please contact us with any questions.
3) Layaway: We are very flexible when it comes to payment. Once a minimum of a deposit is paid, we can tailor a payment plan and provide invoices according to your exact specifications. Please contact us if you wish to make payments in installments or have any questions about payment plans.
4) Shipping/Handling/Insurance: Our rates cover shipping, shipping related overhead, and insurance. Shipping within the USA: We ship USPS Priority on smaller packages, and Fedex or UPS on larger packages. If your order ships USPS Priority, you will automatically get a tracking # from www.usps.com, sent to the email address you used to place the order. If your order ships with Fedex or UPS, you will automatically get a tracking number from either www.fedex.com or www.ups.com. Insurance is automatically included with all orders.International Shipping: We use USPS Express and Priority services whenever possible, as this is the most economic and reliable way to ship your order. Different countries have different size and weight restrictions so if your order is too big to ship with USPS, it will have to ship with one of the couriers (UPS, Fedex, or DHL). This is always more expensive, but the service is very good. The packages usually arrive within 3-5 days, and come straight to your house. If your order ships USPS, you will automatically get a tracking number from www.usps.com, sent to the email address you used to place the order. Insurance is included automatically with all orders. NOTE TO INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS: Every country we’ve ever shipped to has a Customs department that charges taxes for international packages. We have absolutely no control over these Customs departments- neither the taxes/duties they charge, or the time it takes to process these packages. We will not be held responsible for these taxes, duties, brokerage fees, or the time it takes to process these packages. If we ship you your order and you then refuse to pay the taxes assessed on your item(s), and the order is returned to us, you are financially responsible for all shipping and insurance charges incurred for the transaction + a 10% restocking fee. We have 8+ years of international shipping & Customs experience, so if you need more information on what to expect, please contact us before placing your order.
5) USPS First Class / USPS Media Mail options: Occasionally, we will offer USPS First Class or USPS Media services to our US and international customers. These do not come with tracking or insurance so if you choose these services, they are at your own risk. We will not be held responsible for orders lost/stolen/damaged if they’re shipped with these services. As of December 2011, thanks to Hai Yang Zhao in the UK, we are no longer shipping anything First Class valued at over $50. This thief pleaded us to ship an expensive item First Class, accepted 100% responsibility when told of the risks, and then filed a paypal dispute. We will no longer ship anything value over $50 without tracking/insurance, so please don't ask.
6) Customer-provided shipping accounts: On occasion, we do have customers that wish to have their orders shipped at their own expense with their own shipping accounts. We can accommodate you, please contact us if you wish to place an order with us and have it shipped using your own account.
7) Restrictions on International Shipments of Knives, Swords, & Prop Replicas: This pertains to our international customers only. Certain products, such as knives, swords, replicas of blasters & firearms, and anything else that may be perceived or construed as a weapon— these types of products can be subject to seizure in your respective Customs departments, depending on your countries’ restrictions. It is the customer’s responsibility to determine if the item they’re ordering is prohibited from being shipped to their country. We will not be held responsible for orders seized, and/or additional taxes, duties, and brokerage fees your Customs department may levy. This has only happened a couple of times in the 8+ years we’ve been in business and we’re willing to help if we can, but we will not be responsible for the outcome of items seized in Customs. If we have the option of having the item in question returned to us, the customer will be responsible for all return shipping charges.
8) Changes in Shipping Rates: Secret Compass Collectibles reserves the right to update the shipping rates quoted, due to rate changes or a change in item’s dimensions. We make every effort to accurately describe the sizes and weights of the products we advertise but sometimes the dimensions we’re supplied with are wrong, or they change in development and production. This policy applies to all US and International orders. We reserve the right to update the order if the shipping rates and/or size and weight of the product(s) change from the time the product was ordered, and the day the product ships. Sometimes this does work to the customer’s benefit, if the product in question ends up being lighter and/or smaller. Of course, we’ll honor rate changes when it goes the customers’ way as well. We’ll refund accordingly. That’s only fair.
9) Tracking: Unless specifically stated, all orders ship with tracking and insurance included in the price of shipping/handling. We will provide you with a tracking number and the corresponding shipping service shortly after your order ships. It is the CUSTOMER'S RESPONSIBILITY to track and claim packages shipped with the tracking number provided. We will not be held responsible for packages that go unclaimed and are then returned to us. If you do not track and claim your order and it is returned to us, you will be responsible for 100% of the costs to have this package shipped to you again.
10) Cancellations: On in stock items, all sales are final. If you place an order with us, the order will immediately ship to you and this will conclude the transaction. If the item is defective, you need to inform Secret Compass within (48) hours. We can arrange to have the item replaced, free of charge. This may mean that we will have the item recalled by the respective manufacturer, or we may handle the replacement ourselves. You will need an RMA number to return packages to us, please email us FIRST before shipping anything back to us. Packages returned without an RMA # may result in serious delays. If you’d like to cancel your pre-sale order after you’ve placed it and you want a 100% refund of your payment, you need to let us know within (14) calendar days. Considering how often this market changes, we need to know as soon as possible if you no long want the item you have on order, so that we can inform other customers who may be interested in that same item. That’s only fair. If you wish to cancel your pre-sale order after the (14) day limit, orders paid in full are subject to a 15% processing fee. If you wish to cancel a pre-sale order after the (14) day limit, orders paid with a deposit will be cancelled and you will forfeit your deposit. Now, that being said, if you’re committed to your end of the bargain, we’ll uphold our end of the bargain or refund your money in full, 100%. If, for any reason, we cannot fill your order, you will get a 100% refund.
11) RETURNS: All SALES ARE FINAL. We deal in limited edition, museum-grade collectibles and in order to bring you the guaranteed availability of product, best customer service, and the most competitive prices, we will not have our time consumed with customers who want to see how an item looks in their home before committing to it, or customers who change their mind after they've made their purchase and the item has been shipped to them. We regard all sales as final. On clothing, we supply clothing charts to help you determine sizes but we do realize that there is no substitute for trying clothing on at home. We can accept exchanges on clothing if the item if you have is not worn outside your home, it still has all the tags on it, and is still brand new. You will have to pay shipping costs to return the item but we will accept exchanges for a different size on the same item. As Authorized Dealers of nearly everything we sell, we do guarantee 100% against manufacturers' defects. For more information, please scroll down to Defective, Damaged, and Lost Orders. We do not accept returns for any other reason. If you return merchandise to us of your own free will, the package will be refused and/or assessed a 20% restocking fee. This is our policy, and if you purchase through us by any means, you agree to this policy.
12) Defective, Damaged, and Lost Orders: As Direct dealers of nearly everything we sell, your order is guaranteed 100% against manufacturer’s defects. You are entitled to all the guarantees and warranties of these respective manufacturers regarding defects, through us. This covers the actual item, not shipping cartons. Shipping cartons are designed to protect the actual item and are meant to take the wear and tear during delivery and we cannot guarantee that these cartons may be in perfect condition. If you receive defective merchandise, please contact us within (48) hours so that we may process your replacement. If the item is defective, you need to inform Secret Compass within (48) hours. We can arrange to have the item replaced, free of charge. This may mean that we will have the item recalled by the respective manufacturer, or we may handle the replacement ourselves. You will need an RMA number to return packages to us, please email us FIRST before shipping anything back to us. Packages returned without an RMA # may result in serious delays. In regards to damages that may have occurred during transit— we inspect and package everything we sell very carefully to prevent damage in shipment, but some circumstances are beyond our control. It is VERY RARE but sometimes items do arrive damaged, as a result of being mishandled by the carrier. All packages are automatically insured, but it is the customer’s responsibility to file a Damage Report with the post office or Carrier that delivered the package— all of the necessary Insurance information is on the outside of the package. We will file the claim, but in order for the claim to be processed in a timely manner, there has to be a Damage Report on file. This applies to all packages, within the United States and international. In most cases, the customer will receive direct compensation (a refund) from the Carrier. We will not refund payments unless we are certain that the Bidder has filed the Damage Report, and we are certain that the Carrier is refunding to us. Of course we will assist you in any way we can but it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to file the Damage Report so that the claim process can be completed. For packages that appear to be lost… packages shipped within the USA are trackable and should arrive within 7-10 days. Please track your package with the tracking number provided, this will keep you updated on the status of your order. If you have not received your package shipped within 10 days, then feel free to contact us. Packages that ship internationally take anywhere between 3-15 days to arrive, depending on the service selected. There are often delays in Customs- sometimes hours, sometimes days, sometimes weeks. Again, we cannot be held responsible for delays in your country’s Customs Department. Please track your package with the tracking number provided, this will keep you updated on the status of your order. If you have not received your package within 45 days, please contact us. All International orders are automatically Insured so you are always covered 100%. We will file a claim and refund your payment as soon we have the official word from the United States Post Office that the package is officially declared “lost”. We cannot refund until the package has been officially declared LOST.
13) Customer Service: We pride ourselves on customer service. If you have any questions before/after your order, please feel free to email us at info@secretcompasscollectibles.com during normal business hours- 8 am to 4 pm (Mountain Standard Time USA) Monday-Friday, and occasionally, on weekends. WE ANSWER ALL EMAILS. If you do not hear back from us within a reasonable time frame, we did not receive your e-mail or you did not receive our answer. This sometimes happens, especially with today’s junk filters, spam control, and ISP/server issues. Please e-mail us from a different e-mail account or feel free to call us.
14) Security: Secret Compass Collectibles is committed to maintaining a web site that builds our users’ trust and confidence on the Internet and protecting their personal information. All personal information transmitted via the Internet is encrypted and is protected with the industry-standard encryption protocol, Secure Socket Layer (SSL). All credit card numbers are encrypted before storage and are displayed with all but the final four digits obscured. We also take precautions to protect user information off-line. We do NOT share our customer’s information with anyone. We do retain email addresses from our customers and potential customers so you may get newsletters regarding product updates and promotions.
