As collectors/buyers ourselves, we have had to file chargebacks against many of our competitors, to recoup good money lost, for sloppy order filling or orders not filled at all- and zero communication. Q: The product I want to order isn’t going to be available for like 6 months. How do I know you’re not going to keep my money and rip me off?
A: There are many, many, many reasons why we are not here to rip you off. First off, we’re honest people. We didn’t get to the position we’re in, 8+ years in the making, by ripping people off. We don’t cheat our fellow collectors. Ever. Secondly, in this day and age, it would be a very stupid business decision to rip off a customer. This would mean lost revenue from that customer’s continued business, plus lost revenue from the every potential customer that came into contact with the jilted customer. In today’s blogosphere, the news spreads very quickly when a merchant does something good or something bad, and we want our company to be held in the highest regards. We are proud members of SideshowCollectors.com, StatueForum.com, GentleGiantCollectors.com, etc. and routinely contribute to their blogs. Thirdly, as Direct dealers for many of these fine companies for the past 8+ years, does anyone think we would still be allowed to represent these companies, if we were ripping people off? As Direct Dealers, we are bound to the agreement that we signed, to adhere to the highest of standards when it comes to customer service. Fourthly, if we were looking to rip off our customers, we wouldn’t be offering the option of paying just a deposit. When a company is willing to accept deposits, it’s in their best interest to fill the orders as quickly as possible, so that they can get finally paid for the sale. We want nothing more than for your order to arrive safe and sound, and for you to tell your family and friends that you got it through Secret Compass. Merchants who want to stay in business value repeat business more than anything, and you can’t establish that sort of trust by ripping people off. We’re here to provide you with quality products and great customer service. We have filled orders with customers who paid deposits months & sometimes years in advance, and we always honor our end of the bargain. We never “forget” about anyone or the payments they’ve sent us.
Q: This product isn’t going to ship for like 6 months, do I have to pay the full amount so far in advance?
A: NO. There are some customers who want to pay in advance so that the transaction is completely covered when they have the funds, but for those of you that would rather keep your funds until the product ships, we do offer the option of paying just a deposit. Once you click on the actual product, you have a choice in the dropdown menu of either “Pay in Full” or just a “Pay Just a Deposit” . If you select to pay just the deposit, you will be invoiced for the final amount + shipping when the item is in stock. You can also make smaller monthly payments if you want. We are very flexible with payments and can tailor a custom payment plan to your exact specification. Please contact us with any questions.
Q: I canceled my order, why didn’t I get my deposit/all my money back?
A: Late cancellations case serious stress in this industry, and for this reason, in recent years- most of the manufacturers and the Direct Dealers in the limited edition collectibles world are charging Non Refundable Deposits. We provide a service to serious collectors building serious collections, around the world. Given the nature of limited edition collectibles, the market can change on a day’s notice. Something available today can be unavailable tomorrow, and to give every customer the equal chance to obtain what they want, we need to have the most accurate product count on hand. If you place an order through this website, you have (14) days to cancel the order and receive a 100% refund. If you request a refund after the (14) day limit, your full payment will be subject to a 15% processing fee. If you paid a deposit and you request a refund after the (14) day limit, your deposit will be forfeited. The manufacturers and the Direct Dealers have to be able to separate the serious collectors from the dabblers and speculators who order 1 of each on every website, and then want to cancel everything on a moment’s notice, without penalty. This is unfair to anyone who is serious about acquiring the products we sell, who may not be able to get what they want because the speculators have it all on reserve. This is our policy, and we think it’s fair.
Q: Why is my order taking so long to ship?
A: With limited edition collectibles, the ship dates can and often do change on a moment’s notice. There are often delays with these types of products, as the companies making them have extremely high standards in quality control. We are committed to passing along updates as we receive them.
